* Macs Brewhouse and Bar

Theres a beer in New Zealand called Macs, and they use a really funky handrawn typeface on all their packaging. And they have a chain of bars around town that have really funky interiors. The main one near Auckland Quay uses upside down standard lamps hanging from the ceiling, and this one uses stacks of retro drawers and cabinets as a focal point behind the bar. Very cool.

Nice Luggage labels - although my suitcase is a little bit more modern than this! And below a lovely interiors boutique in Newmarket, Auckland sold these fun wooden letters, and a 3-D Zinc version. Have scouted around for Zinc letters in the UK, but haven’t found a source as yet - will try gain though as these are gorgeous.

In the Summer, the hubby and I had a little weekend away and I’ve been meaning to blog about it for ages. Not only did we stay at the gorgeous Somerset Arms, (which has just won Food Pub of the Year 2009 so it must be good!) but we came across a great little shop in Frome. In the Woodshed specialize in found and vintage objects for the home and have some gorgeous unique pieces for sale in their online shop. And if they don’t have what you’re looking for, you can email them a brief and they will search it out for you. Some of their finds are these wonderful vintage letters and signs - I’m hooked!

Hows this for a cute idea! Gorgeous moss covered initials - perfect decorations for weddings, or just a gorgeous addition to your home. Unique, eco-friendly and personal.

And you can make them yourself! Click here for a step by step guide by the enterprising bride who created them. She was been inspired by an image she found when planning her wedding and couldn’t find a supplier, so rolled up her sleeves and made them herself. I think I’ll have a go myself.
