After studying Graphic Design at Brighton University, Wendy went on to work for Topshop, The Body Shop and Rimmel as a retail designer before moving to North Devon and setting up Letterfest in 2008. She began by designing a set of children's alphabet art prints and engraved names and dates into natural stone pebbles. Inspired by the coastline and the village where she and Bob live, Wendy came up with the idea of drawing people's homes from photographs and so the Letterfest illustration was born. She loves designing new products using traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, typographic detailing and a strong visual style to create the range of bespoke gifts. From the early days of working from her kitchen table, the Letterfest team has now grown to include a group of talented people, all passionate about creating unique gifts just a stone’s throw from the beach.
When he's not busy running his own successful wedding planning website WeddingVenues.com, Bob designs the Letterfest website. He's the brains behind our marketing campaigns and comes up with new production processes for the team. If you have a technical problem with our website – he’s the man to fix it!.
The front line of Letterfest, Camille handles all our orders and enquiries. She loves talking to our customers and helping them however she can. Camille's degree in Theatre & Dance means she is naturally out-going and the perfect first port of call at Letterfest. Having previously worked for an online retailer, we're very happy to have her and her customer service skills in the team.
Letterfest's first employee, Lucy has seen Letterfest grow rapidly over the past few years. Having studied Illustration at Swansea University she was always set on a career where she could use her creativity. Lucy worked at a greeting card company before working at Letterfest and her drawing skills are now channelled into making our bespoke portraits. Lucy creates our personalised art prints and manages the production of many of our products.
Anthony studied Graphic design at De Montfort University before heading to London to start his career. After working for an experiential marketing company, he moved back to his native North Devon and began drawing for Letterfest. Anthony draws our people portraits, wedding and house illustrations and is in charge of our engraved pebble and slate orders.
Tom worked as a freelance illustrator before coming to work for Letterfest. His degree in Graphic Design combined with his strong drawing skills are the perfect mix for life as a Letterfest illustrator. Our resident pet portrait expert, Tom draws many of our personalised illustrations as well as creating our bespoke art prints.
James studied painting at Wimbledon School of Art and then worked for Damien Hirst in London before transferring to his North Devon studio. He brings to Letterfest a wealth of design experience to use on our products and digitally colours all our house illustrations once they have been scanned onto the computer.
Jackie is one of our illustrators who draws our house and wedding venue portraits. She studied Fine Art Photography at Glasgow School of Art and works on her own private commissions of 3D alphabets and models when she's not hard at work for Letterfest.
Bill is the artist behind our detailed house and venue illustrations. With a graphic art background, he illustrates books and also supplies magicians worldwide with handpainted picture silks. He brings to our illustrations a wealth of experience and skill.
Our Kindle covers and glasses cases are all handmade by Anna. She has a distinguished seamstress background, having made costumes for the Royal Shakespeare Company and is now creating her own designs for Letterfest.
Hannah is in charge of all the mounting and framing of our illustrations and art prints. She worked for an art gallery before working at Letterfest and brought with her the skills and speed needed for adding the all important finishing touch to our gifts. With an amazing eye for detail she makes sure all our prints leave Letterfest in pristine condition.
Charlie is the youngest member of the Letterfest team and is the person who ensures all our products leave HQ on time and packaged safe and sound. He works with Hannah mounting and framing our pictures and dispatches all our engraved stone. Devon born and bred, Charlie is always out and about usually on his BMX or surfing at one of the local beaches.
Before working for Letterfest, Anna worked in London as a PA and before that a Recruitment Consultant. A proud Devonian she recently moved back to live back by the coast. She studied at Cardiff University in Sociology and is naturally curious about people and things. Anna writes our blog and works with Bob on our marketing and PR.
The office dogs - The lovely Travis belongs to Wendy and Bob and spends his days sleeping in the Letterfest office or spreading his calming influence throughout the team. He has inspired some of our products and is a favourite with our Twitter and Facebook followers. Hannah's lovely springer spaniel Gin is a frequent visitor to Letterfest HQ. If there's one thing Gin loves more than Hannah, it's food. Other people's food in particular. It's time to hide your sandwiches when Gin is in the office.
Letterfest also works with a number of other designer makers to create their products – from the letter fairylights, to the handmade fairtrade photo albums.
